Getting to San Marino
To reach San Marino from Bologna Airport, you have a few transportation options at your disposal. Bologna Airport, located approximately 100 kilometers away, provides a convenient starting point for your journey. One option is to take a taxi from the airport directly to San Marino. Though it might be a bit more costly, this choice guarantees a hassle-free and quick transfer. Alternatively, you can opt for a train journey. From the airport, take a shuttle to Bologna Centrale, the main train station. Once there, catch a train towards Rimini, which is the closest major city to San Marino. From Rimini, you can then take a bus or a short taxi ride to reach the historic Republic of San Marino. The train and bus combination offers a more economical option to explore the stunning landscapes en route to San Marino. However you choose to travel, the unique charm and ancient history of San Marino await you at the end of your journey.

Montale Tower, the most famous of the three, dates back to the 13th century. It is the smallest of all three, but played a strategic role in the defence of San Marino as it is placed in the best position for lookout. Unfortunately, this tower is not open to the public but can be admired from different points in San Marino.
